Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad  -  Fall Foliage Tour w/ Harts Turkey

& Gondola Skyride @ Loon Mountain

Join Raymond Recreation as we tour the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee on the Scenic Railroad!!  What a great way to view the beautiful lakes region.  A few highlights include: amazing unobstructed views of the lake, Mt Belknap, Weirs Beach Boardwalk, Paugus Bay, as well as beautiful seasonal residences and resorts.  Our day starts with a relaxing 18 mile, 2-hour round trip excursion along the lake.  On our train, we will enjoy lunch from Hart’s Turkey Farm – Fresh Carved Roast Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Butternut Squash; Rolls & Butter a beverage and dessert (Warm Apple Crisp). 


Our next stop will be the amazing Gondola Skyride at Loon Mountain.  We’ll be taking New Hampshire's longest scenic Gondola ride to the summit of Loon Peak, where we’ll enjoy breathtaking mountain views!  Enjoy a short visit at the top of the mountain for the incredible view of fall in her splendor, the crisp clean fresh air & some beautiful photos.


The coach bus will leave Raymond at 8:44 am and return around 4:55 pm.  The cost for this trip, which includes coach bus transportation, train ride, turkey lunch, gondola ride and all gratuities (including wait staff and coach driver), is $94 for Raymond seniors (are age 60 or over), $99 for non-resident seniors and adult Raymond residents.  Non-resident adults pay $104.

Raymond Recreation is offering a 6-week session of pickleball for adults & seniors.  Pickleball will be held from 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday evenings from Sept 20 – Oct 25.


What is pickleball you ask??  It’s like a combination of tennis and ping pong.  An added bonus!  you’ll have so much fun you won’t notice you’re getting a great workout.  Beginners welcome.


This program will be at the Raymond Middle School Gym on Tuesday evenings.  You can bring your own paddle, or we will have some for people to use.  The fee for this 6-week program is $25.  Pre-registration is required.   Click HERE to print out registration form and click HERE to register online!

Reiki Level I Certification

6 Weeks starting September 6th to October 11th

Tuesday 6:00  - 7:20 PM

The Reiki I class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. Each student will give and receive a complete chair treatment using Byosen scanning and the hand placement system. Upon completion of class you will be able to give treatments to yourself and others and to animals. Information and techniques covered in this training:

  • The History of Reiki

  • Chakras (energy centers)

  • Giving a chair Reiki treatment to yourself and others

  • Gassho meditation, Reiji-ho - developing your intuition

  • Byosen Scanning - detecting where Reiki is needed

  • Kenyoku - dry bathing or clearing one’s energy field

  • Hayashi healing guide

  • Using Reiki for specific conditions

  • Using Reiki to heal unwanted habits

In addition to practice in class, it is expected that you will set aside an additional two nights a week to practice your chair session on a family member, friend or student from class. Please commit to daily self-treatments from this point on. This additional practice is necessary to gain the experience and confidence you need to fully utilize the Reiki training. We offer many opportunities for our students to practice and become confident through our Reiki Shares and practice sessions geared to your level of training.

Classes will be held in the Raymond Middle School room 192. Non-residents pay an additional $5.00 (unless you zoom in for class). Please make the check payable to Raymond Recreation Department; you can also pay the instructor the night of class.  Minimum of 4 people to hold class.

Fee for this 6 week session is $75.00 per person.  You need to complete all 6 classes to receive your Certificate.

 Good for beginner to intermediate. Class will offer some advanced poses to suit your needs for that day. You will be encouraged to use your breath to move in and out of poses and at your own pace. You will be encouraged to let go of judgment, competition, focus on your breath and be in the present moment. Dress comfortable and avoid eating a large meal 2-3 hours before class.

The instructor for this course will be Monica L Cyr, a Raymond resident and a certified Yoga Teacher in the Vinyasa Style and a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui/Tibetan system of healing. With 22 + years of teaching experience, in both group and private settings, she believes in tailoring her classes to the individual needs of her students to ensure a positive experience for all.

Classes will be held in the Raymond Middle School Library. Non-residents pay an additional $5.00 (unless you zoom in for class). Please make the check payable to Raymond Recreation Department; you can also pay the instructor the night of class.

The fee for this 6 week session is $35.00 per person.

What is Zumba?  Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness cardio based workout that with incorporated sculpting exercises tones the entire body top to bottom. Zumba takes you on an international journey through dance and rhythms including Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Cumbia and much more. 


The instructor for this course is Marissa Olivier. She has taught children’s dance and Zumba for Raymond Recreation for the past several years. She also has 10+ years dance experience which she is excited to bring to Zumba Fitness!


Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers (older worn sneakers work best).  Bring water!  You are more than welcome to bring your own set of 3-5 lb dumbbells.  You must be at least 17 years old to sign up for this class.


Zumba will be 6 weeks, on Tuesdays, August 23 – September 27.  The cost is $7 for drop in or $35 for a 6-class punch card. Classes will be held 6:30 – 7:15pm every Tuesday in the Raymond Middle School cafeteria.  Click here for the liability waiver form.
