Adult 21+ Basketball

April 5 - June 21

 

Raymond Recreation will be offering an adult 21+ basketball program.  This is an 8-week pick-up program (not a league or set teams).  This session will run from April 5th (excludes – April 26th & May 31st) through June 21st.  21+ Basketball is Monday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30 pm at the Gove Middle School Gym.

The fee for the entire season is $30 or you may drop in for $10 per week.  Non-residents pay an additional $5.00.  You must have a Rec waiver & Covid-19 waiver on file to participate.  Sign-in sheets will be on-hand each week, please remember to sign-in.

Adult 30+ Basketball

Raymond Recreation will be offering an Adult 30+ basketball program.  This is a 10-week pick-up program (not a league or set teams).  This session will run from April 18th (excludes – April 25th ) through June 27th.  30+ Basketball is Sunday mornings from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Gove Middle School Gym.

The fee for the entire season is $30 or you may drop in for $10 per week.  Non-residents pay an additional $5.00.  You must have a Rec waiver & Covid-19 waiver on file to participate.  Sign-in sheets will be on-hand each week, please remember to sign-in.

Gentle Yoga
6-Week session: June 14th  –  July 26th

Mondays and Wednesdays @ 5:45-6:45 pm
 

We will be offering Chair Yoga (Modifications)


Good for beginner to intermediate. Class will offer modifications/chair as well as more advanced poses to suit your needs for that day. You will be encouraged to use your breath to move in and out of poses and at your own pace. You will be encouraged to let go of judgment, competition, focus on your breath and be in the present moment. Dress comfortable and avoid eating a large meal 2-3 hours before class.


The instructor for this course will be Monica L Cyr, a Raymond resident and a certified Yoga Teacher in the Vinyasa Style and a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui/Tibetan system of healing. With 13 + years of teaching experience, in both group and private settings, she believes in tailoring her classes to the individual needs of her students.


Classes will be held in the Raymond middle school café. Non-residents pay an additional $5.00. Please make the check payable to Raymond Recreation Department; you can also pay the instructor the night of class.
The fee for this six-week session is $35.00 per person. 

What you need: A yoga mat and strap for stretching. Contact the teacher with any questions 603-793-6213.

You must wear a mask at all times; when entering/exiting the school, as well as throughout the session.  Must social distance.

 Workin’ it with Wendy!

June 28 – July 29

 

Are you looking to improve your fitness, tone that body, and even build your energy in a safe and fun outdoor workout class?  You have come to the right spot.  Wendy Spence is offering a 5-week fitness session to help you get back on track.  “Workin it with Wendy” is an “Old School” fitness program for every level - from novice to advanced, ages 18 and older.  Throughout the 5-week program, she’ll introduce a variety of workout styles to interest everyone: “Old School” basic calisthenics, HIIT (high intensity interval training), Tabata (work/rest timed rounds), and full body weight workouts.  Wendy will also include the use of hand weights and bands (provided), to tone and strengthen muscles.  She will demonstrate modifications for beginners and those who want more of a challenge. By meeting everyone where they are, the workout becomes individualized, even in a group setting. 

 

Wendy’s passion & coaching focuses on a positive mind set, improving physical health, and overall wellbeing. She’s been coaching HS athletics & privately over 20 years (holding NHIAA, Sports First Aid & CPR/AED certifications).  Workin’ it with Wendy will be a great way to start your day, get your blood pumping and your body moving. 

 

“Working it with Wendy” is 5-weeks, Monday, June 28 to Thursday, July 29; 8:30 – 9:30 am or 9:45 – 10:45 am on the lower field at the Raymond Middle School.  The cost is $50 for the 5 weeks (any or all days) or $15 per class for drop-ins.  Please wear comfortable athletic gear, bring a mat and have plenty of water.  (if you choose to up your game please feel free to bring your own dumbbells & bands.

 Pickleball

 June 23 - July 28

 

Raymond Recreation is offering a 6-week session of pickleball for adults & seniors.  Pickleball will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Wednesday evenings from June 23– July 28.

 

What is pickleball you ask??  It’s like a combination of tennis and ping pong.  An added bonus!  you’ll have so much fun you won’t notice you’re getting a great workout.  Beginners welcome.

 

This program will be at the Raymond Middle School outside tennis courts on Wednesday evenings.  You can bring your own paddle, or we will have some for people to use.  The fee for this 6-week program is $20.  Pre-registration is required.

44th Annual Hugh Holt Memorial Road Race

July 11, 2021

ENTRY FEE:    Pre-registration is $20.00.  Race day entries will be accepted, for a fee of $25.00. Profits go to scholarships for children in the summer program.

 

PARKING:    Parking for runners and spectators will be at the Gove Middle School or Lamprey River Elementary School.  Runners and spectators are asked not to park in the center of town because of church services.

 

REGISTRATION:  Registration will begin at 7:30 am at the Gove Middle School.  Water and restrooms will be available at the school.

 

REFRESHMENTS: There will be refreshments after the race on the Raymond common, weather permitting.

 

RACE SHIRTS:      Race shirts will be given to the first 50 paid registrants; they will be handed out on the

 morning of the race.  To ensure correct t-shirt size registrations must be in by June 25th.

 

AWARDS:     Awards will be handed out on the Raymond Common after the race.  Categories are for both male and female participants:  1st, 2nd & 3rd overall, 1st in age group [19 & under; 20 – 39; 40 – 59; 60 & over], youngest and oldest.
