Adult Programs

AEROBICS - 

The next session for this season will begin on Monday, January 6  at Gove Middle School and end on Wednesday, February 19.  This program is offered every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5:00pm, classes are for one hour and are a combined aerobics/toning class.    This is a strenuous coed exercise program led by NDEITA trained volunteers.  Children joining Aerobics must be at least 14 years old.  Please be sure you complete a PAR-Q & YOU form for this season.

 

The cost of Aerobics for this session is $25.00.  Non residents pay an additional $5.00 per session.  Two related people from the same household may register for $40.00, non-resident couple for $50.00.

 

Floor mats are required during Aerobics; proper footwear is also necessary.  Registrations are now being taken at Raymond Recreation.  Hours are Monday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, and Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

What is Zumba?  Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness cardio based workout that with incorporated sculpting exercises tones the entire body top to bottom. Zumba takes you on an international journey through dance and rhythms including Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Cumbia and much more.

 

The instructor for this course is Marissa Olivier. She has taught dance for the Recreation Department for the past several years. She also has 10+ years dance experience which she is excited to bring to Zumba Fitness!

 

 Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers (older worn sneakers work best).  Bring water!  You are more than welcome to bring your own set of 3-5lb dumbbells.  You must be at least 17 years old to sign up for this class.

Barre Necessity - Jan. 8th to March 28

Welcome to Barre Necessity… We love barre and offer 3 Fun Class styles to keep your body moving!  

Barre 101:   We focus on alignment and form in a slower pace to make sure you get the most out of your movements.

Barre Intensity:   Combining attributes of Pilates, Dance and Functional Fitness training. (Barre 101) Then adding large range of motion to elevate the heart rate, and sequencing that incorporates upper and lower body to make every minute count. (this is your cardio barre class)

Barre Fusion:  We combine barre elements with added props to provide a workout that is fun and unique.

The instructor for this course is Linda J. Richards.  A former dance enthusiast, Linda found the Barre workout and fell in love with it immediately. After being a student of barre, she took her instructor training and is now excited to bring Barre to you!    

 

This 10-week class will be held Wednesdays @ 7pm & Saturdays @ 8am Iber Goves Middle School Café from January 8th, 2020 to March 28th, 2020 (there will be a 2 week vacation off TBD)  Full session or Class Packs are available as follow.   Punch cards will be given depending on class pack chosen.   CLICK HERE for a registration form

Adult 30+ Basketball - Dec. 8 - Feb 2

Raymond Recreation will be offering an adult 30+ basketball program.  This is a pick-up program (we do not have a league or set teams).  The session will run from Dec 8 to Feb 2. This program meets on Sunday mornings from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Gove Middle School Gym.  

The fee for the entire 10-week season is $30 or you may drop in for $10 per week.  Non-residents pay an additional $5.00.  You must have a waiver on file to participate.  Sign-in sheets will be on-hand each week, please remember to sign-in. To Register CLICK HERE

Gentle Yoga
6 Week session: December 30th 25th – February 12th Saturday classes on Jan 4th , 18th and February 1st Monday & Wednesday 6:00 PM & Saturday 8:00 AM


We will be offering Chair Yoga (Modifications)
Good for beginner to intermediate. Class will offer modifications/chair as well as more advanced poses to suit your needs for that day. You will be encouraged to use your breath to move in and out of poses and at your own pace. You will be encouraged to let go of judgment, competition, focus on your breath and be in the present moment. Dress comfortable and avoid eating a large meal 2-3 hours before class.
The instructor for this course will be Monica L Cyr, a Raymond resident and a certified Yoga Teacher in the Vinyasa Style and a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui/Tibetan system of healing. With 10+ years of teaching experience, in
both group and private settings, she believes in tailoring her classes to the individual needs of her students to ensure a positve experience for all.
