Director of Public Works
 

The Town of Raymond (pop. 10,400) seeks a dynamic, resourceful, and experienced Public Works Director. This is a full-time, non-union, department head position that reports to Town Manager; responsible for supervising, directing, and managing all administrative and technical aspects of the Town’s Public Works Department which operates under seven divisions: administration, highway, fleet maintenance, solid waste (contracted curbside collection & transfer station), buildings, parks, and water, and cemeteries.

 

Successful candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of running a public works department including MS4 compliance practices.  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with five (5) years progressively responsible experience in municipal public works or related engineering operations, including three (3) years supervisory and administrative is desired, however, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to succeed in this position will be considered.

 

The Town of Raymond offers a competitive benefit package. Salary range $85,000 - $91,000 starting salary to commensurate with qualifications. The Town of Raymond is an equal opportunity employer.

      Cemetery Sexton

The Town of Raymond is accepting applications for the position of Cemetery Sexton.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing the sale of plots, locating, and marking gravesites, tracking of internments, maintaining burial records and the coordination of burials for all activities at Town cemeteries.

Individual  will work under the general supervision of the Town Manager and Director of Public Works. Job duties are reviewed through monthly meetings, observance of work performed, and feedback from residents.

      On Call Snow Plow Drivers

The Town of Raymond, New Hampshire is seeking to hire qualified New Hampshire plow drivers interested in providing services to the Town for the 2021 -2022 winter season on an as needed basis.

 

The Town has a fleet of winter maintenance equipment ranging from pick-up trucks to 6-wheel dump trucks with wing plows. When storm intensity and/or staffing shortages dictate a need, we will reach out to the On-Call Drivers to report for duty and assist in winter maintenance operations.

 

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a clean driving record, a CDL License and reside within 30 minutes travel time of the Raymond Highway Shed. Snowplowing with a wing plow experience is preferred.

 

Interested individuals should apply using the Town’s Employment Application. All respondents must highlight the scope of their plowing experience, references and equipment used.

 

The wage range for this Seasonal position is $18.00/per hour to $22.00/per hour, depending on qualifications.

 

This position is eligible for Overtime for hours accrued after normal business hours and double time for hours accrued after 16 consecutive hours.

 

Finalist must complete a pre-employment screening, drug test, physical and background check.

A License History verification may be required.

Youth Services Librarian
 

The Dudley-Tucker Library, in the Town of Raymond (pop. 10,400), seeks a dynamic, resourceful, and experienced Youth Services Librarian.

This is a 32 hour per week, union position that reports to the Library Director.

 

The Youth Services Librarian, as a member of the Library team, provides services to support our young patrons’ use of Library resources and services, promotes and implements programs for youth throughout the year, including the Summer Reading Program, and furthers the Library’s mission. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, innovative, and dedicated professional librarian with a genuine passion for and commitment to working with children and their caregivers, has empathy for their interests and needs, and a dedication to advocating for them. A sense of humor, passion for learning and teaching, and knowledge of children’s literature is essential. Experience incorporating creative uses of music, movement, art, and STEM into programming is preferred. This position requires organization, discipline, flexibility, and teamwork.
